Job Description

Under direction of the Corporate Counsel, Colombia, this position will provide legal support and counseling, in connection with asset management, corporate contracts and documents as requested by different departments of the company as well as external customers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Draft, review and negotiate various contracts and agreements.
• Assist with asset/ property management matters.
• Prepare and coordinate corporate and regulatory filings.
• Maintain corporate records.
• Coordinate and implement projects to improve the internal in country legal processes of the company.
• Prepare litigation strategies
• Review master lease agreements with carriers, landlords, and vendors.
• Support requirements of internal clients with the Corporate Counsel supervision
• Other duties as assigned by Corporate Counsel.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
• May direct activities of administrative support staff and paralegals as assigned by Corporate Counsel.
• Carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with SBACC’s policies and applicable laws.
• Provide support to Corporate Counsel Jr.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience:
• Law degree required; must be a licensed attorney.
• 4 - 5 years of professional experience, at least 3 of those in corporate, urbanistic, and contractual law.
• Wireless industry knowledge preferred.
• Knowledge of general corporate and litigation matters strongly preferred.
• Ability to travel via air and/or ground transportation as needed.

Language Skills:
• English required
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret legal documents and financial reports in Spanish and English.
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community in Spanish and English.
• Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors in Spanish and English.

Mathematical Skills:
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply those concepts in spreadsheet analysis, report generation and decision making recommendations.

Reasoning Ability:
• Ability to apply principles of legal and logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret abstract and concrete ideas.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
• Licensed to practice law in Colombia.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, include:
• Ability to travel regularly within the country, approximately 50% of the time.
• Ability to hear, understand and respond appropriately to verbal requests made in person and over the telephone.
• Visual ability correctable to 20/20.
• Sitting 60% of the day.
• Ability to respond verbally in an understandable, professional manner in person and over the telephone.
• Manual dexterity to input data into the computer.
